Dear Friends,
I am in the process of trying to develop an English language summer program for females between 5 - 18 years of age in the slums of India. I am looking for some direction in terms of similar programs that have already been developed and curriculum that has already been established. Any direction that can be provided will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Kizzy Roy

Briefly I am on the Board of Directors of EBB and participated in 2009 and 2010 in Kenya.
I suggest that as a first step you review, if you have not already, UNESCO's Millennium 2015 Goals, in particular what has been and is the status of girl's education in developing countries.

I suggest that you make it a Summer Reading Camp.
Summer Reading Camps offer children opportunities to advance and improve their reading skills and habits. I have done summer camp counseling for many years and happened to publish a couple of articles on the concept/project.
Some years ago the Ministry of Youth and Sports here in the Kingdom of Morocco implemented the very same summer plan; unfortunately, no records of the experience were voiced if ever they were kept.
Get in touch Kizzy if the idea sounds not bad!
