EBB 2010 Workshop for Naivasha District, Kenya

There was a week-long flurry of activities at Utumishi Boys’ Academy, Gilgil when over 140 educators engaged in discussions around four teaching learner-centred methodologies in the third round of EBB workshops in Naivasha district – Kenya. We have had an incredible first semester - joining up with a class in Croatia, a group of kids from the Street Project in Uganda, and experts all over. We are also working with Lucy Buck - who developed childsi foundation to help orphans in Uganda.

Haiti this summer?

The images from Haiti have been haunting me especially those of the children. I didn't realize the large number of children who were orphaned prior to the earthquake. No doubt these numbers will multiple in the aftermath of the earthquake. I fear what will happen after the initial shock and relief wears thin. I have a desire to provide at least a small group of children with some joy in the chaos and trauma. I am thinking I might visit Haiti orphanages this summer to offer a type of summer… Continue
