Starting in 2006, Education Beyond Borders teams from Canada have worked with colleagues in Sub-Saharan Africa build their capacity to
Design and deliver in-country programs focused on learner-centred methodologies and competency-based approaches (project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, collaborative learning, differentiated instruction, SEL, etc.), in line with the local curricula. Our workshops:
feature practical classroom strategies and activities.
discuss adaptation to local context and culture.
encourage implementation in the classroom.
train teacher volunteers as local facilitators and leaders.
Give ongoing support by responding to requests from local teachers and facilitators for specific professional development topics and resources.
Collaborate on remote learning modules.
